The World Woman Davos Agenda
The World Woman Davos Agenda is a collaborative, multistakeholder initiative to reshape women's roles. Itoffers a distinctive platform to redefine and reforge ourunderstanding of the current era's global responsibilitiesand the imperative for cooperation to make genderequality a reality. In 2024, as we confront an intricateweb of crises encompassing soaring living costs, anescalating climate emergency, and widespread conflictand displacement, the pursuit of gender equality willface formidable challenges. The progress towardachieving gender parity is grinding to a halt, endangering our future economies, societies, andcommunities.
In this tumultuous landscape, where leaders grapplewith a relentless barrage of economic and politicalshocks, the peril of regression looms large for women.Millions of women and girls are currently denied accessand opportunities, presenting a dire situation.Accelerating the pursuit of gender parity is not just amoral imperative; it's a necessity for the prosperity andsustainability of our world.
To usher in lasting change and thwart the threat ofregression, we must engage in collective, coordinated, and comprehensive action to launch the mostaudacious mission #EqualityMoonshot, at the WorldWoman Davos Agenda. Grounded on the ideas ofindividual and collective intervention to enhance socialand worker protection, reskilling and reintegrationopportunities, bolstered care infrastructure, increasedfemale representation in industries where they areunderrepresented, and a proactive stance in preparingthe ground for gender parity in emerging industries ofthe future.
At its core, the #EqualityMoonshot initiative is our callto action for a sustainable planet, a thriving economy, ahealthier environment, and a more peaceful world. Joinus in this transformative journey as we reimaginegender parity and strive to make it a reality in a worldfacing unprecedented challenges. Together, we canshape a brighter, more equitable future for all.
Featuring keynote conversations, panel discussions,one-on-one interviews, and interstitial spotlights, theprogram is based on a simple yet powerful idea: thecurrent crises, no matter how serious, are symptomsof larger problems that have accumulated over time, and they disproportionately affect women and girls. These crises occur because we often perceive systemsas separate components rather than recognizing theirinterconnectedness and constant evolution. This isparticularly evident when we consider the significantglobal changes that impact women and girls moreprofoundly.
So, what we aim to accomplish with this program isto take a two-pronged approach. First, we willidentify strategies to address our immediatechallenges. Simultaneously, we will examine thebroader context and explore how we can transformour systems and societies to usher in a new era ofequality for women and girls. This transformation ispivotal in achieving the ambitious#EqualityMoonshot outlined in the World WomanDavos Agenda, representing a bold departure fromtraditional approaches.
